What is Client Analytics
It's an easy-to-use tool that helps you turn data and insights into actions that will benefit your members and support your member communications. It gives you the actual data you need to help drive better outcomes for your members and for their future financial wellbeing.

Recent enhancements to the tool:
Personalised videos - you can now use Client Analytics to view how many of your members are engaging with their personalised videos.
Geographical filters - you can now use enhanced geographical information in Client Analytics to compare member information across the UK.
Incorporation of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association Retirement Living Standards (PLSA RLS) - The tool now incorporates the PLSA RLS , which has been developed to provide people with a picture of what kind of lifestyle they could have in retirement. You can now identify the percentage of your workforce that is in each of the RLS bands; Minimum, Moderate or Comfortable. The hub also shows how this compares with our Standard Life benchmark and industry benchmarking. Using RLS, we have enhanced the Client Analytics tool to create two views; a summary table showing the proportion of members falling within each band, and more granular level analytics showing the proportion of members by retirement income band. Both views allow the user to toggle between projections based on Standard Life pension assets only, or to include an estimation of pension assets held elsewhere.

How does Client Analytics help employers?
We understand that you need a simple, efficient way to stay on top of the activity within your pension scheme, and make sure member communications have real purpose.
That's why we've built you this analytics tool, with simple but powerful segmentation filters that let you see and track trends in real time. So you can easily see exactly how groups of scheme members are engaging with their pension plan, and help answer the ultimate question - what standard of retirement are my members on track for?
You can then turn to the user-friendly charts, graphs and models to identify where any areas of concern or opportunities might sit. These can be used to inform communication plans or action points which are informed by real-life, real-time data.
It's really easy to use; you just need to register and then you use exactly the same login details you already have for managing your Standard Life scheme online.
How does Client Analytics work?
The tool lets you see your member data set out in a dashboard-style format. It's packed with features, including:
You can use dynamic filters to segment your member information based on a range of metrics. For example:

This means you can cut through the vast amount of data that is held within your pension schemes and focus in on specific behaviours and trends across different groups of members.
You can view your own scheme data against a benchmark of other companies within the same industrial sector. This can give you valuable insights into how your pension scheme is performing compared to others in your industry.
Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association Retirement Living Standards (PLSA RLS)
The tool incorporates the PLSA RLS, a set of standards developed to help people picture what kind of lifestyle they could have at retirement. This means you will be able to understand the percentage of your workforce that is in each of three bands:
You can then generate a chart which shows you how this compares with our Standard Life benchmark, and industry benchmarking. There are two different views; a simpler base view, and an advanced view which lets you toggle to incorporate an assumption based on additional pension holdings elsewhere.
How do I register for Client Analytics access?
It only takes few minutes to register. You'll need:
- Your existing employer login details for your online platform
- The name and number of the schemes you want to manage.
Your application will then be sent to us for approval, and we'll get back to you within 3 days, or sooner.
Getting the best out of Client Analytics
Once you're set up and logged in, you can use the information the system provides to help develop your understanding of your member behaviours. This can in turn help you to:
- Increase member engagement by improving the relevancy and timing of your communications, based on insight.
- Reduce your messaging costs by helping you communicate to your members in the most effective way, first time.
- Help you decide if you want to get some support with member communications from a specialist team like Standard Life's 56 degrees (Note that there may be a charge for their services.)
