A Stocks & Shares ISA offers you flexibility. You can tailor our product according to how you feel about investment risk, how long you have to invest, how much money you can invest and where you want to invest.

It’s popular with our customers who want to shelter their money from the taxman and are willing to invest over the medium to long term.

You can start with regular monthly payments from £50 or a lump sum of £500, and you can save up to £11,880* in the 2014-15 tax year. We have a range of funds with varying degrees of risk for you to choose from.

You have two main options:

  • Option 1: Selected range - choose the MyFolio Managed Fund which most closely matches your attitude to risk. Experts at Standard Life Investments will then manage it on your behalf.
  • Option 2: Choose from our full range of over 1,500 funds (as at February 2014) covering a range of asset classes, geographical regions and investment styles.

Alternatives

You may also want to consider an offshore or tailored bond if you:

  • think the above options don’t suit you
  • have more to invest than the ISA maximum
  • want to gift this money to family in the future
  • are concerned about managing inheritance tax

Just contact your financial adviser for more information on picking the best product.

As with any investment the value of your fund can go up or down and may be worth less than what was paid in.

Remember that laws and tax rules may change in the future. The information here is based on our understanding in February 2014. Your personal circumstances also have an impact on tax treatment.

*Allowance applies from 6 April 2014 to 30 June 2014. From 1 July 2014 the allowance will be £15,000.
