Earn a greater rate of interest by linking your accounts

Pooling your savings together with family and friends is an ideal way of making your money work harder for you.

Our unique pooling facility takes advantage of our tiered interest rates. When a group of individuals open multiple accounts within one Standard Life Cash Savings savings plan, everyone in the Plan will earn the rate of interest applicable to the combined balance.

You can pool as many as 99 accounts (belonging to up to 6 individuals) as long as all accounts are of the same type with the same notice period. For example, you cannot mix Direct Access Savings Accounts with 50 Day Notice Accounts.

There is no need to worry that people in your Plan will know how much money you have because all accounts are completely private. No member of the Plan can access details of another account.

Next steps

If you are an existing customer and wish to add further people to your plan, simply call us with their personal details.

We will require the following information:

• Their full title, name and address (including postcode)
• Their daytime/evening telephone number
• Whether they are a UK resident and tax payer
• Their bank details (sortcode, account number, name and address of bank)
• Type of account they wish to open
• How often they wish to receive interest (monthly/annually)

The Facts

• Accounts available to UK residents only over the age of 16.
• For 50 Day Notice accounts for personal savers, we will charge a penalty equal to 50 days' gross interest on the amount withdrawn if you do not give us 50 clear days' notice of withdrawal.
• You cannot pool Bonds or Bond Plus accounts
• Withdrawals sent by electronic transfer via your external account will normally take 3 working days.
• Minimum deposit £1.
• Standard Life Cash Savings savings accounts are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
