Getting ready for retirement doesn’t start in the days and weeks before you stop work. With a bit of planning, regular reviews – and taking action when you need to – you’ll be able to keep your retirement plans on track.
Up to 10 years to retirement
It may seem like a while until you retire, but small changes now could make a big difference later. So take stock of all your retirement savings to make sure you're saving tax-efficiently and you're on track for the retirement income you want.
Up to five years to retirement
It’s not too late to sort out your financial priorities to maximise your income when you retire. Consider your options - less risky investments may be more appropriate for you at this stage. Have you thought about how you’ll pass on your wealth?
Less than a year to retirement
Retirement is just around the corner and there are some key points to think about such as whether to take a guaranteed income or a flexible income. Your decisions aren’t all financial ones though – if you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to consider what you’re going to do with all the free time you have.
